A coordination meeting organized by the Afghanistan Hazaras Culture and Solidarity Association (AHCSA) was held at the beginning of the Education and Teaching Year.
The meeting, which started at 09:30 on September 13, 2023, and lasted until 12:30, was held at a hotel in Trabzon. The “TRABZON-EDUCATION WORKING GROUP (EWG) COORDINATION MEETING” was held under the coordination of Trabzon İGİM and AHCSA, with the support of the 3RP National Education Working Group and under the leadership of UNICEF. The meeting was attended by the head of the İGİM Social Adaptation Group and a social worker, representatives of non-governmental organizations, some school principals where immigrant children are heavily educated, guidance counselors, personnel from the Adult Education Centers of Ortahisar and Akçaabat districts, and opinion leaders from Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Iran. At the meeting, issues such as education in schools, parental involvement, problems of adaptation between children and parents, child labor, peer bullying, and language barriers were brought to the agenda. The AHCSA Children’s Committee presented solutions to the problems. It is envisaged that coordination meetings will be held regularly in Trabzon by 3RP.
